How do I…

  • suggest a press release about a student athlete or initiative?

Send all available details to Derek Dunning. Include the basic information, such as who/what/where, what team they play, and include an accompanying photo or headshot if applicable. If you need assistance writing the release, be sure to contact Derek with as much lead time as possible so that he can advise.

  • find out a particular teams record for the season?

Contact Tyler for team records for a season. If you’re incorporating that information into a news story or pitch to an alum, let him know. He may have other ideas or inside knowledge about the team or athlete for you.

  • arrange tickets to a sporting event for a visiting VIP alum?

Let Derek know who the alum is and what even you’re hoping to bring them to. While Cathy Diego in the Athletic Director’s Office can arrange tickets, Derek can often give you details or fun facts that you may want to share with the alum.

Fun fact:

Last year the Athletic Communications office launched a video series called “Athletes vs. ACDs” and challenged top Norwich student athletes in their own arenas. From swimming, to soccer, and football, the series record is ACDs-1 and Athletes-3 as of time of printing. View the videos on
